There is substantial evidence that inclusive education benefits all children - with and without exceptional needs - by improving classroom practice. The Inclusion Collaborative (IC), a program of the Santa Clara County Office of Education, leads the effort to provide ALL children in Santa Clara County with quality learning environments. Its focus is the successful inclusion of children with special needs in K-12 and early education, and across the community, through education, advocacy and awareness. The presentation will provide concrete examples of the work of the IC (including supports, trainings, resources, the Warm Line, and the Supporting Inclusive Practices Project) that can serve as models for districts and school to use in their own efforts to address and reduce inequities faced by their own students with exceptional needs.
